The Different Art Centre marked a significant milestone in inclusive education with the launch of an innovative robotics training programme for differently-abled individuals, in collaboration with Srishti Innovative, Technopark. Titled RoboSpark, the initiative was inaugurated amid excitement and curiosity as friendly robots captivated participants and guests alike.
Robots named RoboDog, Vandana, and Medha made a lively entry into the centre - jumping, running, narrating stories, shaking hands with children, presenting roses to dignitaries, and even dancing - creating an atmosphere of joy and wonder among the differently-abled participants.
The programme was formally inaugurated by Sanjeev Nair, former CEO of Technopark, who emphasised the need for inclusive employment. In his inaugural address, he stated that beyond enabling differently-abled individuals to showcase their talents across various fields, organisations must take responsibility for creating at least one job opportunity for them in every office. He commended the Different Art Centre for being a dynamic hub of empowerment and opportunity for the differently-abled community.
The event was chaired by Gopinath Muthukad, Executive Director, Different Art Centre. Krishnadas Pisharam, CEO, Srishti Innovative, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the importance of accessible technology education.
As part of its mission to create sustainable employment opportunities, the Different Art Centre is launching this three-month robotics training programme under the overall supervision of Dr. Anil Kumar Nair, Director – Intervention, Different Art Centre. The first batch includes 20 children. The initiative aims to equip differently-abled individuals with future-ready skills and open new pathways to technology-driven careers.
