Vishnu from Different Art Centre recognized by Minister for Fisheries, Culture, and Youth Affairs

Saji Cherian, the Minister for Fisheries, Culture, and Youth Affairs, honored Vishnu, from the Different Art Centre (DAC), a young talent with cerebral palsy. Vishnu gained recognition at the International Open Research Conference organized by Sophia University, Japan. In a ceremony held at the Minister's office, Vishnu was presented with a Kathakali art form showpiece as a token of appreciation.

The Minister highlighted that the invitation extended to Different Art Centre to participate in international events reflects its widespread acceptance. Vishnu's recognition is a source of pride for the DAC. The felicitation event was attended by Rajashree Warrier, a renowned Bharata Natyam dancer, Deepa (Vishnu's mother), and others.

Vishnu, along with Gopinath Muthukad, Executive Director, Different Art Centre, participated in the conference organized by Sophia University in Tokyo on November 7th, 2023. During the event, Vishnu showcased his magical talents in front of University Chancellor Dr. Sally Augustine, professors, and experts in the field of disabilities, including Prof. Akira Otsuka, Toshiya Kakiuchi, Yoshikazu Hirasawa, Toda Mikako, and other panelists. The performance received commendation from the audience.

Gopinath Muthukad, in the symposium held as part of the conference, explained the positive impact of the special teaching process based on magic on differently-abled children. The panelists, recognizing Vishnu's transformative journey, awarded him with a certificate. This acknowledgment further emphasizes the success of Different Art Centre's unique approach to nurturing and empowering individuals with diverse abilities.
